At the Geneva International Motor Show 2019, the Japanese tire company announced the release of its brand-new Yokohama Advan Neova AD08RS, a semi-slick tire which complies with the recent European legislation on rolling resistance. Indeed, the new European law (ECE R117-02 S2WR2) prohibits manufacturers from offering new tires rated F or lower on the European performance label for rolling resistance.
As the big brother to the nearly flawless and renowned Advan Neova AD08R, the new summer tire Yokohama Advan Neova AD08RS – the latest addition of the company to its sports range – builds on the success of its predecessor, with which it shares the same tread pattern, and on top of that it also fulfils the European regulations. In fact, it is characterized by an outstanding sporting performance, particularly on dry and wet roads and a lower rolling resistance, since Yokohama optimized the rubber.
This technical improvement will enable the Japanese manufacturer to market this street sports tire in all European countries from spring 2019 onward. Besides, it will be gradually available in 31 sizes, ranging from 185/55R15 82V to 255/30R19 91W.
